At Shorncliffe State School, we plan, teach, assess and report on the Australian Curriculum:

  • Science
  • Humanities and Social Science (HASS)
  • Health and Physical Education (HPE)
  • Technologies
  • The Arts
  • Languages: Japanese

​A number of specialist teachers provide lessons in the areas of:
  • Physical Education
  • The Arts Program (Dance, Drama, Music, Visual and Media Arts)
  • Instrumental Music (Brass, Strings, Percussion, Woodwind)
  • Languages (Japanese) for Years P-6​​​
The Australian Curriculum is 3-dimensional; it includes learning areas, general capabilities, and cross-curriculum priorities. Together, the 3
dimensions set out essential knowledge, understanding and skills all young Australians need so they will be able to learn, co ntribute and
shape their world now and in the future.
Our teachers engage in ongoing moderation processes develop a shared understanding of the alignment between the curriculum in tent,
assessment, teaching and learning sequence, and reporting.
