School Improvement Priorities for 2025

In 2025, Shorncliffe State School remains committed to enhancing student achievement, wellbeing, and inclusion through targeted initiatives.

Our key priorities focus on:
  • Educational Achievement: Ensuring every child progresses by embedding a whole-school approach to explicit teaching in reading. Deep Learning strategies will be strengthened to foster higher-order thinking and inquiry-based learning.

  • Wellbeing and Engagement: Creating a positive learning environment by implementing a whole-school wellbeing and engagement framework, daily student check-ins, and explicit social-emotional skill lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum.

  • Culture and Inclusion: Knowing our students and supporting their diverse needs through Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, personalised learning records, and strategies that reduce barriers to learning.

  • Building Teacher Capability: Providing professional development and refining inclusive teaching practices to ensure all students, including those with disabilities, are well-supported.

Through these strategic actions, we aim to foster a culture of high expectations, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, ensuring the success and wellbeing of all students at Shorncliffe SS.​​
