Resource Centre – Library

Our library plays an essential role in the education of our students. It houses our Diverse Learning team, STEM space, music lessons and has an open air multi-use deck. The layout and design allows flexible use of the space depending on the needs of students and staff and can accommodate both small group and whole class sessions.

The library is also a place for students to come and relax, play board games or enjoy some colouring. It provides access to an extensive range of texts which can be borrowed during allocated library class time. Students are also encouraged to use the library at break times (Please check library door for current opening hours). Parents/guardians are also welcome to borrow our books.

The library staff welcome any enquiries and can be contacted at library@shorncliffess.eq.edu.au

This is distributed twice a term, with all purchases accruing points that enable the purchase of new resources for our school.

Overdue loans including lost & damaged books

Please see our Overdue Policy - link to the right of this page.

Book Fair & Book Week

Our library will host an annual Book Fair to coincide with our school celebrations for Book Week (during Children's Book Council of Australia event, usually during Term 3). The Book Fair allows students and their families to buy books and earn points for our school to buy additional resources. Book Week at Shorncliffe is a highly anticipated event, with activities throughout the week. A highlight is always the Book Week parade, where students and staff come dressed as a favourite book character.
