Shorncliffe SS hosts several major sporting carnivals throughout the year, including Cross Country (Term 1), Junior and Senior Athletics (Term 2/3), and Swimming (Term 4). While these carnivals offer a competitive element through house team representation, the primary focus is on personal development, participation, and enjoyment.
Representative School Sport
Shorncliffe SS is part of the Bramble Bay sporting district, providing students with access to representative trials and competitions throughout the year. These opportunities are available to highly skilled athletes who wish to compete at district, regional, state, and national levels.
Interschool Sport
Students can participate in Bramble Bay District interschool competitions, representing Shorncliffe SS in sports such as soccer, touch football, AFL, and netball. These competitions allow students to experience team-based challenges and school pride while competing against other local schools.
Intra-School Sport
Through partnerships with National Sporting Organisations, Shorncliffe SS offers on-campus sporting sessions designed to develop fundamental skills and foster a love of physical activity. Past programs have included baseball, basketball, gymnastics, badminton, and orienteering.
